The 7 Principles of Privacy by Design in Practice
Original broadcast date: Nov. 13, 2019
Privacy-by-design initiatives are often the most revolutionary and impactful projects for any privacy professional and the crux of ongoing adherence. They transform processes, instil privacy into the very heart of working practices, and robustly protect data subjects, employees and the organization alike. Or, at least, that’s the theory.
In reality, privacy-by-design initiatives are often beset by complexity, large numbers of stakeholders and, on occasion, even the organization’s reticence to adapt. Combined, these will typically lead to dangerous compromise and privacy requirements being addressed late in the project cycle, often undermining its overall functionality – the exact opposite of what privacy-by-design seeks to achieve.
So how do you keep a privacy-by-design project on track, even in the face of the common problems above? And avoid building a “business blocker” reputation for privacy in the process?
Join us for this web conference to see how Calligo used Ann Cavoukian’s renowned "7 Foundational Principles" of privacy by design in a live client engagement to ensure the success of the project from technical, privacy and business perspectives simultaneously.
Key takeaways:
· What the seven Principles of privacy by design are
· How they can be applied in practice
· The potential consequences of not adhering to them
· How to apply them to your own project
