Topic:

Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario’s Strategic Priorities

Join Ontario’s Information and Privacy Commissioner (IPC), Patricia Kosseim as she discusses the IPC’s Strategic Priorities Project and the opportunities for a made-in-Ontario private sector privacy law.

Through its mandate, the IPC is committed to focusing on the access and privacy issues that matter most to Ontarians. As part of this commitment, the IPC is engaging in a strategic planning exercise to identify the priorities that the IPC will focus on for the next five years. The Commissioner will be discussing the importance of strategic priorities, the outcome of the public consultation process and the lessons learned.

In addition, over the summer the Ontario government launched a public consultation to explore whether the time has come for a made-in-Ontario private sector privacy law. In this session, the Commissioner will speak to the various opportunities for Ontarians should Ontario adopt its own private sector privacy legislation.

Speaker:

Patricia Kosseim, Information and Privacy Commissioner, Ontario

This meeting will also introduce a Westin Scholar Award Winner.
