While California led the way with California Consumer Privacy Act, 19 U.S. states have a comprehensive privacy law, each with varying requirements — and more are on the way. The differences in these laws impose complexities for companies conducting business in multiple states.
The key questions are whether there are common denominators from a compliance perspective and which of the states offers the strictest approach companies can follow.
