Topic:

Technical Risks and Privacy Measures in AI: What Matters and What Doesn’t

Join the Munich chapter for an interactive session on the technical risks and privacy measures in AI and machine learning. Together with AI researcher and privacy expert Katharine Jarmul, the chapter explores what really matters - and what does not - when it comes to data protection, governance and practical implementation under the GDPR, including concrete measures one may consider implementing, especially in relation to Art. 32 GDPR. Participants will have the opportunity to actively shape the discussion and set priorities during the session. The meeting aims to address the following questions:

  • What is AI and machine learning and how does it work technically?
  • What are the technical risks for data protection and privacy?
  • What are specific technical measures in light of Art. 25 and 32 GDPR and a risk-based approach? How can these be implemented in practice?
  • What could be an appropriate governance approach and what basis is necessary for this?

Katharine Jarmul, Author, Practical Data Privacy
